We take our adventure planning seriously. In fact, for the past 20 years, we’ve been trying hard to perfect the “recipe” for life-enriching adventures.
We’re proud to say the Shimano Gravel Muster ticks all our boxes for a multi-day “epic” – and hopefully yours too.
Here’s our recipe:
Start with a Bucket-List Location
You’ll traverse 100% car-free roads that snake through the spectacular gorges and vast open plains of the East MacDonnell Ranges. It’s a landscape that’s intimidating to tackle solo but absolutely awe-inspiring when experienced with 100 like-minded mates.
Combine with “rally” racing format…
Each day is broken into timed racing segments (where you can test your mettle against the clock and the land) and untimed cruising segments that let you ride with friends and savour the experience without the pressure of time.
Whether you’re a gravel enthusiast wanting to cruise all day, or a World Tour pro wanting to stomp the pedals – you’re riding style is celebrated.
Then add in the Weather…
Typical mid-winter temperatures in the Outback sit in the low to mid-20s. The sky is blue 300 days a year. And the wind is usually light. It doesn’t get any better.
And sprinkle in some off-bike fun…
In the evenings, we stay together at true-blue Outback cattle stations in iconic Australian settings (all accommodation, meals, and logistics included). This is where lifelong friendships are forged: sharing stories around the campfire, relaxing under a star-studded sky that has to be seen to be believed.
And suddenly…
You’ve got a life-enriching stage race that’s pretty hard to beat.
So, if you’re an adventurous rider looking for something more than just a bike race – something wild, something exotic, a “bucket list” mission you’ll be raving about for decades to come…
Then the Shimano Gravel Muster is calling your name.
Limited to 100 riders. Entries are open now.
Here’s to dusty frontiers & adventure “food” for the soul,
The Rapid Ascent Team
